Triangle Quilt review

Seekatesew is one of my favourite blogs. Her tutorials are so easy and logical to follow and I find her fabric choices inspiringly beautiful. While I could possibly write a whole blog about how great the website is, what I’d like to focus on is her Triangle Quilt tutorial.

I’ve used this pattern twice: as a gift for an old friend’s new born daughter and as a Christmas gift for my nephew. Both kids used their quilt as playing mats until they were a little older and used them to hunker under in their cots. They are also a great size for a knee blanket.

With an early start and a good playlist you could make this quilt in a day. The design is simple but looks so effective. The two quilts I’ve made have used very different pallets, one bright and the other delicate and muted and I’ve played with different textured of fabric which creates a little more depth to the quilt.

One of these days I’ll be brave and try a more complicated quilting pattern but for now I’ll relish in the praise of friends and the giggles of their gorgeous babies playing on their handmade quilts.
